Crime News: 14 hurt in Telugu Desam-Congress clash in Guntur

As many as 14 people were grievously injure today when two factions, owing allegiance to Telugu Desam and the Congress respectively, hurled bombs and pelted stones t each other in Solasa Village in Yadlapadu Mandal.

This faction-ridden village is controlled by – Veera Reddy faction associated with the Telugu Desam and Bhaskara Reddy faction associated with the Congress. However, yesterday’s gram pachayat elections were peaceful due to police presence.

Thismorning, victorious Congress sarpanch M padmavathi was taunted by the TD workers when she went to buy vegetables. This led to fresh tensions with both the groups hurling smoke bombs and later, pelting stones at each other.


The SP immediately rushed reinforcements under the leadership of Guntur DSP M Ravindra Babu, who conducted raids and arrested 30 persons.
